Welcome to the Porter Hill Farm CSA, run by Burt and Nancy Knapp. We are both semi-retired physicians who are passionate about eating good food for good health and pleasure. We have been growing our own organic veggies for many years and would now like to share with others.
We moved here in 2007 to be near our son and his family and love being grandparents and our new “home”.
Since we are new to commercial farming (our first CSA season was in 2008) we ask for your patience as we learn how to make this work best for you and ask also for your suggestions, requests, etc. We see this venture as a partnership between the growers and consumers. We also hope you will enjoy your trips to our farm
In time we will offer “pick your own” blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Maple syrup and fresh eggs are also in our sights. (We expect to offer Maple syrup and PYO Strawberries this year, 2009)
Remember, although we are not yet certified, we grow strictly organically for your and our environment’s health. So if you come across an occasional “critter” in you greens, have a good laugh and wash it off.
We look forward to getting to know all our members as friends on this important journey of eating locally and healthily.
